Dear HIS Kids Families,
It’s hard to believe that just over a week ago we sent you a letter which contained these words:
The COVID-19 virus remains unpredictable, particularly with the rise of the highly transmissible Delta variant. As a result, circumstances can rapidly change. We ask you, our His Kids community, to remain adaptable with us to new health and safety needs that may be ongoing.
As we are sure you are all aware, in the last few days, circumstances have indeed changed regarding what is required of schools in Pennsylvania, both public and private. With the issuing of the latest statewide order by the PA Secretary of Health, HIS Kids Christian School will be requiring that all teachers, staff, students, and visitors to the school wear face coverings while in the building – this can include masks, cloth or disposable, and plastic face shields.
We do not want to pull back from activities like we did last year, so children will still eat in the cafeteria, with each classroom having their own table. We will separate desks as much as possible in the classrooms, so the children can have regular mask breaks while sitting at their desks. Children will not be required to wear face coverings while outside.
Please know this is a very difficult decision to make and we are thankful that, according to a letter received from the PA Secretary of Education, a review and update of the order will be provided to the education community by October 1, 2021. In the meantime, we ask everyone to do whatever possible to stay safe and healthy, and to join us in prayer that God would watch over our school family and community.
Please reach out if you have any questions regarding specific student needs going forward.
Walking in this journey with you,
The HIS Kids Christian School Board
